Ruby is from the last litter planned by Linda and was born 2 weeks before she died so Linda only ever saw photos of her, but I’m sure she’s keeping an eye on us from where ever she is now!
Ruby has exceeded all my expectations so far in her show career, one highlight for me was her being Best Bitch & RBIS at the Club Open Show in 2007 out of an entry of 127 under breed specialist Ann Hardy, handled beautifully by Karen James.
In 2008 she collected 2 RCCs, one at SWKA under Meriel Hathaway and the other at SKC August from Moray Armstrong, before retiring for a few months on maternal duties.
From a successful mating with Wynsett Mistero, she produced a litter of 3 bitches and 1 dog on 21st September 2008, many thanks to Barbara Abbishaw (Hastabbi HPRs) for all her help and support, Mick and I couldn’t have managed without her!
Back in the ring just 11 weeks later she was 2nd in the limit class at LKA under Keith Groom, then in January 2009, she took her first BOB at Boston Champ show (no CCs) under Ann Hardy. Continuing to do well, she had a very respectable 2nd place in Limit at Crufts under Jock Mackay and a first in the Open class at 3 Counties from Pam Blay.
Then the magic moment arrived and I was thrilled to bits when Ruby won her first CC from the Open bitch class of 13 entries, at East of England Champ show under Julia Iles-Hebbert, we had a wonderful day!!
